If this window doesn't have a Compatibility tab, determine whether the options within the application include the ability to disable high-DPI scaling. A while back when I played counter Strike source often I was on a crappy ol' laptop, so i had to use a custom autoexec file which lowered everything as low as it could possibly go, and even stopped some features to speed up the game. It does frustrate me, and gets me killed often. Some applications provide compatibility options within the application instead of using the application's Properties window. So, I am able to play the game, albeit it drops to about 15FPS when things start picking up.You may have to locate the actual game application and then apply this compatibility change to it. For some games, the shortcut starts a "launcher" application that then starts the game.Tap or click Apply, and then tap or click OK.On the Compatibility tab, select the Disable display scaling on high DPI settings check box.Right-click or press and hold the file explorer icon for the application, and then select Properties.Go to File Explorer and go to (C:)> Program Files (x86)> Steam> steamapps> common> Left 4 Dead 2> left4dead2> cfg and create a file called 'autoexec.cfg' without the quotation marks. |
